The latest.

gorgeous enough weather for the lake in March? i'll take it please.
After a long and unintentional break from blogging, I'd thought I'd quickly pop on...just so I don't happen to lose the small and faithful following that I have. ;) I think it's been the nice weather and overwhelming-busyness of life, but I haven't been the only one to cut back on some major computer time and spend a whole lot more of it outside, so I don't feel bad about it at all!

Really though, this weather's been insanely awesome. 80 degrees? In March? We've already visited the lake, and I already have a tan, and it's barely Spring. That really is incredible.

the sunrises have been spectacular lately,
as you can see through the fog and trees outside my window.
Just a handful of blogs that I've enjoyed reading lately... taza-and-husband, the daybook, good women project, jenny-b.
Stefanie and Ethan [and David!] will be here in SIX days. Yay!
I'll be leaving for Florida in just over two weeks. Super-yay! ;)
I'll be finished with waitressing in just five or six more work-days. I can't. even. believe. it. That excites me most of all!
I went shopping in Pittsburgh with Suzi this last weekend, and bought this little thing. It's really so much more adorable in person than online, believe me. And when all was said and done, it only cost me $19. I think I'll pair it with this dress [in coral] for Easter next Sunday. What do you think?

panera-dates with iced chai lattes...mmm, my favorite.
Well, with all of that said, it's back to real-life Monday for me...where the weather has decided to turn on me and be all cold and rainy and typical again, where I have to get some laundry washed, and make some phone calls, and get ready for work, and... can it just be the weekend again already? ;) Until next time, which won't be as long as this time...I hope...

These photos were taken [or curated] earlier this week in honor of 58-degrees and sunshine. Feels like summer-time to me! I couldn't even complain about the wind and the rain...the warmer-ish weather was all I needed to pack up my winter clothing, don my sunglasses, and paint my nails a vibrant, pretty pink!

Simplicity and an ending.

"Simplicity is the ultimate
form of sophistication."
|| Leonardo di Vinci

I've been thinking of this for quite awhile now...but never so seriously as when I woke up this morning, realized that I had 10+ days of blogging to catch up on, and decided that...I wouldn't. It was a great, albeit unrealistic idea to blog about my life every single day. But it's taken all the fun out of blogging, so I won't do it anymore. I made it through 61 days [hooray!], and I'll still continue to blog...just not everyday. And I kind of like my blog being a little less about my own day-to-day and a little more inspiration. I'll still post my instagram pics, or photos of me whenever I happen to take any ;) And if anything really important or so-interesting-that-it-HAS-to-be-said-on-here happens, I'll write about that too... Otherwise, I'll post what inspires me whenever I'm feeling inspired! :)

Sorry to disappoint anyone, but I've really been thinking a lot about de-teching my life and rediscovering simplicity. You know, make the final jump from Facebook, [even considering selling my iPod!], tightly-curate my wardrobe and things I own, watch more sunrises, read more books, embrace life outdoors, sew more of my own clothing, bake more bread, read more books to the kiddos...that sort of thing.

A blog that I love for it's beauty, inspiration, and the best kind of simplicity is andrewandcarissa.com You should really, really check it out. It's far more interesting than this one! :)

61. | Inspire: peach & mint

“A man is never so truly and intensely himself
as when he is most possessed by God.
It is impossible to say where,
in the spiritual life,
the human will leaves off
and divine grace begins.” || William Ralph Inge

Once upon a time I had a lovely little post all prettily written about my love-affair with all things peach and mint... Then one evening I had a mind to edit a small portion of it, but after I clicked "update," would you believe it? It wasn't there. No pictures. No words. Nothing. It was all gone. My heart was broken and I cried myself to sleep. The end.

Actually it wasn't quite the end, because in the morning I decided to pull the remaining pieces of myself all back together again and rewrite the peach & mint post because this little blog just wouldn't be complete without it and I love all things peach and mint so much that it would be more than worth it to collect pictures all over again...[whew! that was a mouthful!]...except this time it might not look exactly the same, because for the life of me I cannot remember what all I had written. :\ So without further ado, the peach & mint, take 2. :) .....

The one thing I DO remember writing about is this ring...because it's so beautiful and I could never forget it even if I tried, and I would never even want to try. :) It's a rose gold, halo-cut, peach-champagne sapphire...and since I don't know very much about rings, that's all I know about it! For years I could never quite determine the style of ring that I loved most, but folks, this one's it. So if someday anyone has a mind to buy me an engagement ring, you know what to look for. ;)
