[twelve] in 2012

[My dream list of twelve for 2012]

Find love.
Quit my job [and work from home].
Make my own dresses.
Buy an espresso machine.
Become a photographer.
Travel somewhere [road trip].
Take each sibling on a date of their own choosing.
Swim in the ocean.
Go on a hiking/camping trip for a week [maybe here].
Take a family trip to Niagara Falls.
Apply for a passport.
Go on a sugar + caffeine fast.

Cheers to newness!

Marshmallow World

It's a marshmallow world in the winter
When the snow comes to cover the ground
It's the time for play, it's a whipped cream day
I wait for it the whole year round.

Those are marshmallow clouds being friendly
In the arms of evergreen trees
And the sun is red like a pumpkin head
It's shining so your nose won't freeze.

The world is your snowball, see how it grows
That's how it goes, whenever it snows
The world is your snowball, just for a song
Get out and roll it along.

It's a yum, yummy world made for sweethearts
Take a walk with your favorite girl
It's a sugar-date, what if Spring is late?
In Winter it's a marshmallow world.

coffee + mauve

One last moodboard for now... I think maybe I'll create/post one every week? We'll see. This one was half-created by the lovely Mrs. Rodgers [she chose the clothing anyway]... and I love it! What do you think?

TOAST

I've been in love with TOAST for a couple of years now...and since I'm on a polyvore kick, why not a European, TOAST-inspired board? They pretty much have the loveliest skirts, don't they?

parties and projects

A few photos from my week...this is what I've been busy with! Minus about a thousand other things, but you know, you can't document everything. :)

Made up a lovely pair of wrist warmers in a coral-blush-pink color. They're gorgeous, and since they cost me absolutely nothing but a couple hours of my time, they're definitely a win.

Hosted a tea party for the twins...I ran out of time and couldn't do everything I had planned on doing, but it went well, and the little guests couldn't stop talking about it!

We ate crème brûlée, and it was delicious...

The tablescape...my favorite part was the tissue paper-tassel-garland in the background
[it only took me six hours to make it...no big deal.]

After the tea party, I hung up the pictures in my bedroom...

We also made lots of cookies!

And my Christmas tree...just because. :)

what I'm wishing for [2011]

Ever since I was a little girl, I made wish lists...things I loved to dream about, even though I knew I would never own most of what I wrote down. And I still make lists. They're a little more refined and understated than they used to be, but they still make me happy--even if I never receive anything on them! :) Here's my 2011 wish list...I'll continue to add to it, since this is hardly even the beginning, ha! It's a beautiful thing to dream...

Lovely things from Anthropologie...

Inspire: [native american]

I can't even begin to tell you how much I'm loving Native American-inspired things. It probably began with my too-short-of-stay in Oklahoma this past summer, then took firm root when I acquired these lovely Minnetonka moccasins
Here are a few of my Etsy finds...I can't help but loooove the colors, the reds, yellows, oranges, and shades of turquoise blue. The combination of bold patterns and simple, nature-inspired looks. As if each piece has an uncommon story to tell.

Inspire: [sparkle and shine]

Gold and glitter are two of my very favorite things, regardless of the fact that they are huge trends right now [that just means I don't have such a hard time finding sparkly, golden things anymore!]...But I don't like keeping all of the prettiness to myself, so I thought I'd be sooo very kind and share the eye candy with you. 'Cause I'm that sweet! ;)

[I keep my toenails painted gold too...makes me feel pretty. Sshhh.]

That sweater. And the hair. And the glamour.

I like to imagine myself hanging clothing on the clothesline with these pretty French Nest Co. pins

Prettiest necklace I've laid eyes on... I want.

Knot and Bow's baker's twine in gold? It doesn't get any better.

Inspire: [ho, ho, ho, and mistletoe, and presents to pretty girls]

Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
Their favorite time of the year

Snowflakes in the air
Carols everywhere
Olden times and ancient rhymes
Of love and dreams to share

Sleigh bells in the air
Beauty everywhere
Yuletide by the fireside
And joyful memories there

Christmas time is here
We'll be drawing near
Oh, that we could always see
Such spirit through the year

Oh, that we could always see
Such spirit through the year...
